It’s easy enough to set new goals – sticking to them over the long haul is the real challenge..
Measure it – Resolutions should be clear and measurable
Delve into the passionate reasons behind wanting to set these goals for yourself. Is it those favourite pair of jeans you are trying to fit again? Or perhaps you want to increase your energy levels to play with your children at the park. Remind yourself everyday WHY you set these goals.
Inspiration/Vision boards can be that constant reminder and motivation to keep you on track. This should be positioned where you will see it regularly (eg. behind toilet door, bedroom, study or fridge). Make an area on your vision board where you can record your progress, whether it be progress photos or continuous measurements. This is your board so it should be personal and reflect all of your goals. Add and remove items from this board to keep it stimulating and motivating.
Expectations and Reality – People are usually disappointed and discouraged when they do not see instant results. Expect mental and energy levels to change initially and with perseverance, the right training and nutrition; your body shape will change accordingly. Slow progress is still progress.
Change your mindset – Look at what you have already accomplished and be proud of your efforts as appose to thinking about what you still have to do. Focus on the behavioural changes rather than the numbers.
